ATSA undergoes major transformation including new format and name

National Media today announces the launch of Accountech.Live – the reimagined, redesigned and expanded Accountants’ Technology Showcase Australia (ATSA).

Taking place at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 13-14 November 2018, Accountech.Live is the groundbreaking new digital technology event to replace the decade-old ATSA conference, which was acquired by National Media last October from founder David Smith of Smithink.

Accountech.Live covers the rapid evolution of business and accounting technology and the continualmodernisation of the accountancy profession. It’s designed to help accountants and bookkeepers evolve their practice, add value to their clients and bring about exciting new opportunities.

Every aspect of the event has undergone a complete transformation including the event format, content andnetworking. “The digital transformation of business and the growth of cloud accounting and the add-on ecosystem continues at an unprecedented rate. As a result, we felt it was time ATSA morphed into a new style of event that better reflects the fast pace of innovation and digital disruption that’s having an enormous impact across the industry.” said event director, Laura Venables.

Under its new format, the event will evolve from a small pay-to-attend conference into a scaled-up, free-to-attend exhibition where everyone benefits from rich, in-person interactions throughout the full two days. Attendance will grow from 700 to over 2000 delegates. This is a proven model based on National Media’s hugely successful Accounting Business Expo that is held in Sydney every March.

“The new format provides far more face-time between exhibitors and attendees making it much more conducive to doing business.” said Ms Venables. “The marketplace environment is designed to facilitate connections and provide a platform for attendees to find, compare and trial the right solutions for their business.”

Traditional conferences restrict the amount of time delegates get on the expo floor, which can dramatically impact the ROI for exhibitors and missed opportunities for attendees to uncover value-added products and services that can have a huge uplift on the way they work, run their business and service their clients. At Accountech.Live, everything takes place in an exhibition environment, with 100+ technology partners surrounded by fiveamphitheatres that will host incredible content.

The education program is curated by Sholto Macpherson, one of the world’s top cloud accounting technology analysts. Topics will cover a wide range of subject matter including what’s new and next in cloud accounting and the impact it will have on accountants. AI and the Internet of Things, Blockchain, Big Data and Analytics, Future of Work, Cyber Security, Digital Marketing and Social Media, as well as how to navigate the tech investment journey – from research and negotiation to selection and implementation – will all feature on the program.

Mr Macpherson has studied the next generation of accountants in Australia and New Zealand, the US and the UK, Canada and Brazil. He is perfectly placed to curate a program that will help position Accountech.Live as the leading accounting technology exhibition and conference in the world.

Melbourne will be the permanent home for the event ensuring the Victorian accountancy community has its own event year after year. “Melbourne is the fastest growing capital city in Australia and expected to be the nation’s largest city in eight years, surpassing Sydney.” said Venables. “There is a lot of tech innovation coming out of Melbourne so it made sense to host the nation’s biggest digital technology event for accountants in this exciting and vibrant city.”

National Media’s other event, Accounting Business Expo attracts a national audience of 4000 attendees but only seven percent are from Victoria. Accountech.Live presents a great opportunity for solution providers to reach and meet a new audience and grow their sales pipeline in the hottest growth market in Australia.
